Boise, Idaho is located in the Treasure Valley at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The population of Boise Idaho has increased just over 13% since 2010 with its 2021 population being just over 237,000. With Boise being located in the Rocky Mountains it's great for skiing in the winter and mountain biking in the summer. The Boise river flows right through the city which makes it a great place for fishing whether it be ice fishing in the winter or cast fishing in the summer. The river is great for catching fish like trout, rainbow fish, and salmon. Boise also has places such as Discovery Center which has plenty of educational STEM activities. Boise also has a very nice downtown area centered around the 8th street and main street intersection known as "Basque Block". In this area there are lots of shops and restaurants as well as events. Downtown also features the Idaho State Capitol building as well as the Boise Art Museum and the Egyptian Theater, which shows plays and other performances. Downtown Boise is also home to the freaky art gallery with all sorts of different art painted along the walls. Boise also has major employers Micron Technology and St. Luke's Health System. It is also home to Boise State University and plays division 1 in both basketball and football. Boise is also home to music festivals such as the Treefort music fest and Riverfest. Boise is also home to very high ranking public schools and other high ranking educational institutions.

Boise's real estate market has experienced major growth in recent years due to the strong job market and affordable housing. In 2021 the median price for homes in Boise was $400,000 which is relatively affordable compared to other urban areas. Boise has had a housing shortage with the housing inventory staying around 1500 in 2022. To meet this high demand for housing there has been a major increase in construction with developers building lots of townhouses and apartments. The average price for a one bedroom apartment in Boise is $1,300 a month. This is also fairly affordable compared to other urban areas. The north end of the city features historic homes while the southend of the city is popular for being on the Boise river.
