Erika Duran comes to KWNYC from sunny Florida. Her unique interdisciplinary background in science and architecture allows for her to address different aspects of understanding through several layers of information. She holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Florida and was drawn to New York City for its emphasis on architecture in any form. ?What I love about densely populated cities like NYC is the rich history that each neighborhood has. The city is like reading a story that unfolds in the past and future simultaneously. Contemporary architecture is as celebrated as historic design? in one block!? Her approach to real-estate encompasses the totality of the endeavor. Having worked throughout her life at her family-owned financial consulting and real estate company, Erika?s methodology is not only informed by architectural and scientific knowledge, but also financial prowess and savvy. Additionally, Erika?s sustainable interests focus on building design, urban planning, urban agriculture and the intersection of these elements with adding value to real estate. Having done part of her undergraduate studies in Brazil, she is fluent in Portuguese and extensively familiar with the country?s metropolitan hubs.
