About Ernest Acosta
Honesty, integrity, loyalty, and the ability to get a deal done as seamlessly as possible, are just a few of the qualities that set Ernest apart from the never-ending sea of NYC real estate agents. Belizean born Ernest ?Ernie? Acosta immigrated to New York in 1975 and since then has called Gotham his home. His considerable amount of time living in each of the 5 boroughs over the course of his 39 years here, has afforded him an extensive knowledgebase of the current city and its offerings that are second to none. Ernest has a vast array of experience that he cultivated throughout his 5 years working in the Investment Banking field and over 21 years working within the legal industry before he segued into real estate. During his numerous years at a major investment bank, Ernest honed his strong interpersonal skills and unwavering demeanor for getting the job done as he worked closely with high powered managing directors Richard Holbrook, who later served as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations; Richard Darman, former budget director to President George H. Bush; and Dick Moose, head of American Express Governmental Affairs and a White House Fellow. Ernest has also worked within the legal industry, which gave him the experience to work with high-end clientele including hedge fund managers and celebrity clients. Most notable, he worked with Donald A. Goldsmith, where he helped in administering the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Trust. Always one for promoting community awareness and giving back, Ernest is a proud member of Community Board 5, in addition to being vice-chair of the municipal board (FDNY, DOT, NYPD & DEP), Community Emergency Response Team member (?CERT?), and a member of the Association of Research and Enlightenment (A.R.E). His interests include meditation, soothing music, classic films, and screenwriting. Ernest was accepted into the prestigious screenwriter?s program given by Columbia University in conjunction with Harlem Arts Alliance and the Writers Guild of America East. Recently, Ernest volunteered at the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club where he taught filmmaking to teenagers. Ernest is a Certified Negotiation Expert (?CNE?) and a member of the Real Estate Board of New York (?REBNY?).
