About Katrin Kalden
Katrin Kalden is a connoisseur of arts, architecture and cutting-edge technology. Her multi-faceted career, spanning over two decades and two continents, is one that most only dream about.
Born in Germany, she studied at the Bayerische Staatslehranstalt f?r Fotografie, M?nchen?s famed School of Photography and received a Professional Photography Degree. An accomplished artist/photo journalist, her works have been exhibited throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Katrin?s interest in real estate began at an early age; her love of architecture and design prompted her to invest in properties in Germany, where she realized lucrative returns on her investments. But, her thirst for education in fines arts led her to the U.S. where she realized that dream in an enormous capacity; receiving a B.F.A. from the University of New Mexico, an M.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts and a M.Arch Degree from Columbia?s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation (GSAPP).
Settling in the city she loved best -- Manhattan -- Katrin?s graduate work at Columbia enabled her to work for three months abroad as an architect for the London-based firm of Zaha Hadid Architects, and then as a Digital Architect for the Virtual Guggeheim at Asymptote Architecture in Manhattan.
Receiving numerous honors and awards, Katrin has conducted seminars on digital design and architecture at both Columbia and Princeton Universities.
With her extensive background, Razorfish, Inc., one of the world?s largest interactive agencies, offered her the executive position of Experience Lead Information Architect. Her clients included Nike, 3COM Technologies and the media giant of Germany, ZDF.
Katrin then co-founded Ambiant, Inc., a multi-displinary brand design firm that provided Fortune 500 companies (including Audi, Absolut Vodka, Coca-Cola and MOMA) an exclusive brand experience while simultaneously developing IFLUENT, a fashion and technology organization that provided a mass-customization shopping venture for consumers.
Katrin?s entrepreneurial spirit steered her toward consulting with fashion and technology start-up companies and then becoming CEO of her own company, Fusion Avenue, Inc., an interactive, online fashion website that offers consumers a ?fashion that fits? experience as well as a mobile app to enrich that experience.
As obvious from Katrin?s vast expertise, education and experience, her relentless drive and passion for seeking out opportunties that embody her accomplishments led her to accepting a position at Keller Williams New York City as a real estate professional. The energetic and entrepreneurial atmosphere, agent-centric culture, educational advancements and opportunity to work for and with diverse individuals and clients was a natural progression for her.
Katrin?s Motto: My main goal is to listen to my clients. Paying special attention to their needs, easing their concerns, ensuring they?re making the best decision and understanding that a person?s home is an extension of their personality is paramount. I know the architecture, culture and pulse of each neighborhood that makes up this incredible city. As the great Dutch architect Rem Koolhause said: The City is an addictive machine from which there is no escape.
Katrin?s extracirricular activities include global travels and collecting African and contemporary art. She?s also a freelance photographer and an advocate of sustainable technologies and ecologically intelligent design. She will receive her Green Building Certification License this summer, 2012.
She lives in the Tribeca/Soho area of Manhattan.* * *?Member of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA)?Member of the National Committee for UN Woman, 85 Broads?Member of FreeLens?Member of REBNY?Katrin Kalden?s Professional Website(s)
