Red Hawk Trails - Your Weekend Getaway or Full-Time Home
25 acres of woods, groomed trails, and homesite already cleared with electric, water well, septic system and 20'x8' metal storage container on site. That's what you'll find waiting for you at Red Hawk Trails near Wanette, Oklahoma. The first time I drove down the long gravel driveway with the windows down, I saw woods on each side of the road, heard birds singing, and a feeling of peace came over me... peace and calm, as well as a bit of excitement knowing more woods were waiting to explore. When the driveway opens up, you'll find a private, well taken care of homesite surrounded by woods. This ranch has something for everyone in the family, plus your friends! Let's start with about 2 miles of groomed trails ready for 4-wheeling, horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, photography, and of course, hunting! White-tailed deer, hogs, Rio Grande wild turkey, cottontail rabbits, fox squirrels, and so many others. Everywhere you look, there's a wide variety of trees, plants and ground cover that I'm not sure you'll ever get them all identified! I found a bunch of lemon grass right at the gate, and a number of small Catapla trees on the trails, which usually means there are big Cataplas, too. These are the trees famous for their large heart shaped leaves, white blooms, long beans and the old-time fisherman's favorite bait, the Catapla worms! For bird lovers, you'll find some of Oklahoma's classics like Bobwhite quail, dove, scissortail fly catchers, lots of different songbirds, roadrunners, and of course, red hawks! There's a wet-weather creek, some elevation change, and ideal places for tree stands and hunting blinds. Red Hawk Trails is conveniently located appx 25 miles to Norman, OK; 16 miles to Lake Thunderbird; 19 miles to Purcell, OK; and just a few miles to Lexington Wildlife Management Area that offers 9,500 acres of hunting and fishing fun! In a world full of chaotic noise coming at us from all angles, finding peace in our lives is almost impossible. Unless you're fortunate enough to discover a place where you can shut out the noise. A refuge where you can enjoy family and friends sitting around the firepit, watching the fireflies light up at the edge of the woods, let the kids play and run wild. Walk out into the woods with a cup of coffee and listen to the 'quiet.' Red Hawk Trails - make it your own hunting headquarters, full-time home, or weekend getaway to enjoy the peaceful feel that comes with spending time in the great outdoors.
