SHELTER ISLAND TURN OF THE CENTURY WATERFRONT WITH DOCK

Located in one of the most sought after estate sections of Shelter Island, with western facing sunset views and green lawns stretching to sandy beaches and blue salt water, "Half Moon Beach", a vintage Queen Anne shingle style home, was built in 1899 by millionaire beer baron Peter Doelger, owner of one of the oldest established beer brewery in New York City. Peter E. Nostrand, Chief Surveyor for the City of New York, developed this area of Shelter Island in the late 1800's as an upscale seaside getaway for Manhattanites and it remains one of the storybook areas of the island.
